Terms of service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
1. What you sign up for
IACL Comms is a service by IA Consulting Labs to build video, audio and chat meetings with artificial intelligence into your own applications, through an API, client packages and a customer portal. These terms apply to the portal account and to use of the API. For Enterprise and on-premise, the signed contract also applies.
2. Account and keys
- The account belongs to a company or professional. Whoever opens it declares they can bind that company.
- API keys are secret: keep them on your server and never in the browser. You are responsible for their use until you revoke them.
- Test keys (
iacl_test_…) are free, have test limits and use a simulated AI. Live keys (iacl_live_…) need an active paid plan.
3. Plans, prices and billing
- Paid plans are charged monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices exclude VAT, which is added according to your country and tax details.
- Usage beyond what your plan includes is billed at the published price, on the following month's invoice.
- If a payment fails, we let you know and you have 7 days of grace. If it is not sorted, new production meetings are paused until it is paid; meetings in progress are not cut.
- You can change plan or cancel at any time from the portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, and the unused part is not refunded unless the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the change applies from the next period.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service for unlawful activities, to record or process people without the required legal basis, to send content that infringes third-party rights or to try to get round the limits, security or isolation between customers. As the controller of your meetings, you inform participants and obtain their consent where needed, including for recording and for the AI.
5. Your content
The content of your meetings (audio, video, chat, recordings, transcripts and AI results) is yours. IACL Comms does not keep it: audio and video pass through without being recorded, recordings and results are delivered to your system and the temporary encrypted copy is deleted once delivery is confirmed (72 hours at most). We do not use your content to train models.
6. Artificial intelligence
The AI's suggestions, answers, detections, summaries and actions are proposals: they may contain errors and do not replace a person's judgement. IACL Comms proposes and never runs actions in your systems; approving and running them is up to you. If the AI fails or is slow, the call carries on.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service available and announce planned downtime in advance, but the Sandbox, Starter and Pro plans come with no guaranteed service level (SLA). Availability commitments only exist in the Enterprise plan, by contract.
8. Suspension and closing
We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or puts the service or other customers at risk, giving notice where possible. You can close your account at any time from the portal: your keys are revoked and the subscription is cancelled at the end of the paid period.
9. Liability
The total liability of IA Consulting Labs is limited to the amounts the customer has paid for the service in the 12 months before the event that gives rise to it, and does not cover loss of profit or indirect damage. This limit does not apply where the law does not allow liability to be limited: wilful misconduct, gross negligence or personal injury.
10. The client packages
The @iaconsultinglabs/comms-* packages are distributed under the MIT licence. The licence covers the package code, not the service: using the API requires an account and an API key.
11. Changes and governing law
If we change these terms, we give you at least 30 days' notice. They are governed by Spanish law and, unless the law provides otherwise, the parties submit to the courts that have jurisdiction under the applicable law; if you are a consumer, you keep the right to go to the courts of your place of residence. Owner details are in the legal notice.
